Albion Rovers striker Marc Pollock faces year on sidelines
Feb 3 2010 by Colin Paterson, Airdrie & Coatbridge
MARC POLLOCK has vowed to bounce back from his injury nightmare, writes Colin Paterson.
The Albion Rovers striker faces a year on the sidelines after it was confirmed that he has damaged cruciate ligaments in his right knee.
Pollock will have a scan on February 23 and will go under the knife in May.
Rovers have confirmed they will stand by the young forward, who recently signed a contract extension which will keep him at Cliftonhill until the end of next season.

And Albion Rovers gaffer Paul Martin has secured the services of striker John Gemmell.
Meanwhile, Rovers manager Martin expressed his delight in signing Gemmell on a one-year deal.
The 25-year-old returns to Cliftonhill after two years spent firstly at Cowdenbeath and then Montrose.
"He has bounced about for the last couple of years but he has unfinished business with Rovers," Martin told Advertiser Sport.

Watt a short stay at Coatbridge
Tuesday 17th August 2010
Kevin WattStriker Kevin Watt’s stay at Albion Rovers has been a short one as the summer signing from Airdrie United has left Cliftonhill already. The 20 year old, who enjoyed a loan spell at Coatbridge two years ago, had not started a game for his new club this time out and both parties have agreed that his contract should be cancelled by mutual consent.
Manager Paul Martin advised, “It is always disappointing when a move does not work out and it is in the best interests of both parties for Kevin to move on.”
