Martínez, Ruidíaz, Chicharito & Co.: The 25 best selling jerseys in MLS
On Wednesday, Major League Soccer has announced the 25 best-selling jerseys of the 2021 season. At the very top is a player who currently leads the league in market value: Atlanta United's Josef Martínez. The Venezuelan striker has a market value of $13.75 million and, after recovering from a knee injury, has once again established himself as the league's biggest star.
Fifteen MLS teams are represented in the top 25. The Seattle Sounders lead all clubs with four players in the top 25—Raul Ruidíaz, Nicolás Lodeiro, Cristian Roldan and Fredy Montero. Expansion side Austin FC—Cecilio Domínguez, Alex Ring and Tomás Pochettino—and league giants Los Angeles Galaxy—Chicharito, Jonathan dos Santos and Sebastian Lletget—have three players each in the top 25.
The list includes players from 14 different. The US has the most players in the top 25 (six), followed by Argentina (four players) and Mexico (three players). Colombia has two players in the top 25 (check out the full list here). The list includes players with a market value from $13.75m to $330,000.
