Kane breaks Haaland's record - most league goal involvements after transfers since 2000

It’s been a hugely disappointing season for Bayern Munich but it could still end in glory in the Champions League. Bayern face Real Madrid in the semi-finals on Tuesday night in a seismic clash between two of the biggest clubs in the world. Bayern’s dominance of German football, however, ended this season as they failed to win their 12th consecutive Bundesliga title.

Bayer Leverkusen have embarked on a sensational season under Xabi Alonso and they remain undefeated across all competitions with a treble on the horizon. While Munich’s Bundesliga campaign has been a failure, Harry Kane has defied their troubles to record exceptional numbers. The England international departed Tottenham last summer in search of trophies at Bayern and his contribution this season cannot be questioned. Kane has recorded an incredible 55 goal involvements in all competitions and his double against Frankfurt on Saturday broke an impressive record.

Most goal involvements in debut seasons after moving clubs since 2000

Kane’s weekend brace took him to 35 Bundesliga goals this season and he’s six off Robert Lewandowski’s league record with three games remaining. The 30-year-old has also provided ten league assists, meaning he has 45 goal contributions in the Bundesliga this season. That represents a record for most goal involvements for players their in debut seasons after moving clubs in the top five leagues since 2000. Kane moved ahead of Erling Haaland at the weekend after the Norwegian superstar registered 44 goal involvements last season as Man City won the treble.

 Mohamed Salah ranks second after his brilliant 2017/18 season after joining Liverpool when he registered 42 goal contributions in the league - 32 goals and 10 assists. Robin van Persie lies in fourth after his stunning debut campaign at Manchester United, which ended in their last Premier League title under Sir Alex Ferguson. Some famous faces feature in the top ten, including Zlatan Ibrahimović (40), Cristaino Ronaldo (35) and Neymar (32).
