THE ANTICIPATED return of Kevin Smith to Raith Rovers has been soured with the news that the club has lost the services of another key forward for up to six weeks.
In the same week that the club reached a verbal agreement with Dundee United for the return of top scorer Smith, his strike partner Gary Wales was ruled out until the beginning of March.
Rovers are hoping to have the paperwork on Smith's second loan spell at Stark's Park completed in time to allow the striker to return to the team at Alloa on Saturday.
